Immaculate production from start to finish, if there's anyone able to do progressive bass music to its finest - it's Beneath! This EP further cements his legacy in the left field UK scene
Favorite track: Bone Hum.
Presenting his first new music since 2018’s ‘Cloudy’ on A14, we welcome Beneath to the roster with this expansive and unnerving new double EP ‘On Tilt’.
His most substantial release to date, the six tracks build on his signature style of sound system workout imbued with the resonance of UK Funky, Hardcore and DMZ Dubstep. ‘On Tilt’ refers to a situation in poker where the player lets their luck dictate decision making, resulting in irrational strategies based purely on emotion. The panic can be felt throughout the EP with the towering ‘Dark Waters’ being a standout. On closer listen, dense layers of detail lurk beneath the surface making for an intense and thrilling trip.
Brilliant collection of dub and breakbeat-infused techno. Has a very "Bristol" sound as a result of the echo-y nature and ghostly bass undercurrent - if you'd played me this blind and asked me to name the city it originated from I think I would have said Bristol or London. Seems to be a lot of Andy Weatherall in there, especially 'Haunted Dancehall'. If you like Weatherall, Adrian Sherwood/On-U Sound, Renegade Soundwave or any dub influenced techno you'll love this. deadshotkeen
I’m picky when it comes to dance music, but the first time I heard “So U Kno” I was hooked. Deep in that bass and the wide open spaces in these tracks there’s this slightly ominous, slightly comforting warmth. There’s so much ambience and subtlety outside of an amazing beat, and it really makes me excited for where they take this next. giventofly87
